    Will (Jim) Spencer brings to the audio services industry a reputation for solving almost any technical problem, creating a calm and supportive atmosphere in any situation, and bringing out the best in performers. He and partner Rob Martens started Solid Sound studio in Ann Arbor in 1976, setting the quality standard for the region and providing serious musicians in all genres a way to share their work with the world.

    Experience:

    1976-1986:
    • Recorded albums for the Fantasy, ATCO/Atlantic, and Warner Brothers labels

    1986-1999:
    • Recorded creative & final music for Domino’s Pizza national advertising campaigns
    • Recorded/produced theme and background music for CBS Sports (NCAA basketball, golf and tennis national broadcasts)
    • Served as archival recording engineer for the Toledo Symphony

    1995-2004:
    • Worked extensively with the University of Michigan recording large ensembles (Symphony Band & Orchestra, Percussion Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble) and instrumental faculty
    • Recorded numerous jazz CDs for local artists and Michigan State University faculty
    • Mastered over 300 CDs
    • Recorded over 1500 fifteen minute radio shows for Renewal Ministries

    2004-2114:
    • Served as audio/video recording engineer for the University of Arkansas at Little Rock Department of Music
    • Designed sound for 20+ theatrical productions at the university
    • Taught classes in Audio Technology and Theater Sound
    • Produced and recorded 30+ musical variety radio shows for KUAR/Laman Library in Little Rock
    • Recording Engineer for Arkansas Symphony & Conway Symphony
